Steve Nunes - I've been passionate about photography for a very long time....I was raised on photography, you see, my Dad has always been a great photographic artist; he introduced me to the art and shared his love for it with me. I was bitten by the photo bug at a really young age. I would stand on a footstool in Dad's home darkroom and watch the chemicals make the image appear on the paper. It was magic to me! For my twelfth Christmas, all I wanted was a 35mm camera....boy did I love that camera! Now, here's how the magic continued, when I would show my family and friends my work, I would look at their faces, and realized that my images could evoke an emotion, a chuckle, a smile, and even tears. To me that was powerful. I knew that photography and the preservation of a moment in a life was really important and special. As this "photo geek" continued through junior high school, and high school, I thought, could I possibly make a living doing something I truly love? It is all I've done for the past 29 years. All the moments and milestones, the babies, the families, and the weddings that I've captured with my lens have been a blessing. It's still magic to me.
Steve Henriques - Becoming a photographer was never an intention, but more of an accident for me. I was in Commercial Art with dreams of becoming a cartoonist or going into sign painting & design. My senior year is where it changed for me. While on the yearbook staff, I was asked to learn how to use a camera to help with the photography in and around the school. I have to say I wasn't happy with that because I enjoyed the layout and designing of the book. Boy did that change quickly. My love for photography grew in that year, and next thing I know, I am at the U.S. Navy School of Photography. The next few years were spent working in a Navy photo lab, learning all the ins, outs and what's of photography. I happened to work with a Master Photographer,Richard Ramsey, who mentored me and introduced me to the world of portrait and wedding photography. Upon my return home I ended up here at Imagemakers, where I worked for 17 years before becoming a partner 10 years ago. I come to work every day and get to work side by side with an outstanding photographer, and great friend of mine for over 27 years. I have a beautiful wife, and a great family. I have the pleasure of capturing some of the greatest moments in peoples lives and sharing my vision with them through my camera.

Last night we had a great time photographing Manuela and Manny, an upcoming wedding couple. We did the shoot at historic Fort Taber in New Bedford. There were so many nice locations and it was a beautiful summer night. We can’t wait to actually do their wedding in November…they both are so natural and fun in front of the camera. Your love for each other really came through in the photographs. Great Job!
Congratulations to Jessica and Jason, the new Mr. and Mrs. Figueiredo! The wedding took place at the beautiful Unitarian Church in Fairhaven, MA with reception following at the New Bedford Country Club. We have lots of great images for you to see. Congratulations to the NBHS Class of 2008… what a beautiful night for the graduates and their families! Pictured above is my son Travis John Nunes. Travis opened the festivities with a vocal performance of The Star Spangled Banner. “Travis thank you for all the proud moments you gave us this year” This fall he will be attending Marymount Manhattan in NYC, where he plans to study acting and musical theater. We wish him and his fellow graduates all the best!
Celebrate your special milestone with an Imagemakers portrait session!
Greetings Clients and Friends…this week’s favorite is of the Gissenger-Rivera family. Their new little boy, Issac is so handsome! I have photographed Beth (Mom) since she was a little girl capturing her childhood milestones, wedding, and now her family. We really appreciate our CFL’s (CLIENTS FOR LIFE), they have built our business over the years and we really LOVE it when they come back to see us. We are now accepting reservations for our on-location beach sessions. If you think you would like your family or children photographed on the beach this summer, call the studio today and schedule your session. These limited availability appointments sell out every year.
Associate photographer, Bethany Lemieux-Fitch and Imagemakers team, Kacie and Mark, covered Soultana and Derek’s wedding on May 31st. Everyone had a great time and it shows in their photographs. Milestone’s Florist of Fall River, MA did a beautiful job as usual. Bethany and the team would like to thank the Bride and Groom, wedding party and families for their kindness and co-operation. Check back soon for their hi-lites slideshow!
Congratulations and all the best to Rosa and Joe! The two of you were great to work with; all your very hard work paid off with an absolutely beautiful wedding.
